Turning 40: Lessons it has taught me

So my birthday was in August and I just wanna share some thoughts or pearls of wisdom as I chart a new course in this new decade.

Dumbest Names Ever! (Part 2)

Ignorance meets ghetto fabulous with the following random Christian names that people actually take bus or drive to register their offspring with. Back in the day we could accept that it was the poor registered nurses who messed up the kids’ names but unfortunately this no longer holds true. It is the parents themselves who put these ‘beast of burdens’ on their own children for reasons I have yet to fathom.

How to train up your man…

So the other day my friend Sancia tagged me in a Facebook post where a circa 1950s ad was making the rounds about how husbands should train up their wives to be good housekeepers. You and I both know that that was the era of female domesticity and if you couldn’t cook, wash or take care of a bunch of screaming brats, you were seen as deficient and not quite a woman.
